Job Summary: 


The Food and Beverage Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Peppa Pig Theme Park Diner. This role encompasses the development, costing, and implementation of innovative menu options tailored to the diner’s theme. The Supervisor collaborates with vendors to procure high-quality products, thereby ensuring adherence to elevated food quality standards.

 

Moreover, the Supervisor will establish and uphold standards for food presentation and service in accordance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations. As a primary point of contact for food safety, the Supervisor will ensure compliance with best practices and local and corporate guidelines to safeguard the well-being of both guests and staff. Additionally, the Supervisor will manage the daily operations and responsibilities of the Food and Beverage team.

 

Key Responsibilities:


• Standardizes procedures for food product storage, development, and presentation. 
• Utilizes knowledge of operations to develop standards, procedures, signature products, and menus. 
• Responsible for quality control and product research. 
• Delivers on-the-job training programs for food handling and service. 
• Delivers policies and procedures for food safety, allergen training, and special dietary requirement needs. 
• Monitors food wastage to ensure they are in line with expectations. 
• Work with the F&B Team to achieve department KPI goals and drive revenue through your area. 
• Assist the F&B manager to achieve a budget in relation to SPH, payroll, and other costs you can wave your wand over. 
• Train and manage F&B Leads and ensure all hosts deliver consistent standards to create a top team. 
• Focus on customer service following our Guest Obsession model. 
• Evaluate industry standards and merchandising techniques. 
• Create a culture approach to help efficiently deliver excellent food quality results. 
• Serves as an active contributing member of the F&B team across the attraction and the food and beverage teams.  
• Lead the food safety team, ensuring they are current on all food safety changes, guidelines, and group requirements. 
• Completing all stock control processes to ensure guests never go hungry or thirsty. 
• Continually monitor your team’s performance. 
• Undertake rotating Duty Management shifts, ensuring a fantastic visitor experience.
• Ensure the Peppa Pig Theme Park Diner and Milkshake Shack are regularly inspected to ensure staff safety and that any equipment is in good condition and present.    
• Act as a role model and ambassador through own behaviour regarding guest service excellence and focus and commitment to guest obsession.   
• Ensure all local and Merlin finance procedures are followed.  
• Ensure all above F&B operations have associated Codes of Safe Working Practices (COSWPs) and training procedures, which are regularly reviewed and updated as appropriate to ensure robust, safe operational procedures.

Education and Experience:


• A high school degree
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive responsibility in the food and beverage industry preferred. 
• Minimum of 2 years of personnel management, preferably in a theme park/hospitality/service industry preferred. 
• You are experienced in food handling and working within food hygiene regulations. 
• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment  
• Ability to work with all personality types, even in adverse situations  
• Ability to prioritize, anticipate situations, and take quick action  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and recommend/implement effective solutions

 

Travel Requirements: 


• May occasionally require local or domestic travel.

 

Health & Safety:

Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety, & Security within their team, in line with the Merlin Entertainments Group Health, Safety, and Security Policy. They must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities, and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety, and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. 


Working Conditions:


• Attendance is a mandatory function of this job. 
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including morning, evenings, holidays, and weekends to support site operations.

 

Physical Demands:


• Ability to hear, listen, and to communicate with others. 
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
• Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
• Wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.

• Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, and/or crouch to accomplish daily activities.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. 
• May be exposed to a loud work environment.

Environmental Factors
• Depending on location, work may be performed inside or outside with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. 
• Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distractions.
• Exposure to shaking objects and equipment.
• Exposure to varying light levels while transitioning in and out of the attraction at various times of the workday. 
Lifting Requirements
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
