Job Summary:
The Engineering Technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity and safety of all ride attractions along with
the site and supporting systems to the highest possible standards so that it does not present a risk to staff or guests.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform all required PPM work related to the wheel and carousel as directed by dept. management to the
highest possible standards and document within internal work order control system.
• Climbing ladders to access equipment for maintenance, inspections, and emergency situations.
• Ensure the attractions are safe for staff and guests.
• Follow all procedures as dictated within the department Code of Safe Work Practices.
• Maintain a pleasant and approachable manner towards our guests and fellow team members.
• Responsible for maintaining and developing the site to the highest of standards.
• Ensure all equipment and tools are kept in good condition and stored in designated spaces.
• Potentially assist with the maintenance of other site systems.
• Maintain cleanliness of all maintenance spaces, work areas and any guest facing work zones.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of new equipment involved in a new development or project
at the site.
• Ensure that all the equipment is in full working order as outlined by the preventative maintenance
program.
• Comfortable working on mechanical, electrical and control systems prioritizing safety of both staff and
guests while striving to achieve minimal downtimes.
• Ensure that adequate periodic safety checks are undertaken for fire, health and safety and emergency
lighting etc., and that any hazards or defects are either rectified immediately or reported to the
Engineering Manager as soon as they become apparent.
• Responsible for recording details of work performed within internal recordkeeping system.
• Ensure that all audio-visual shows are regularly serviced and that any repairs are undertaken promptly to
minimize any effect on guest enjoyment.
• Comfortable and competent to inspect and repair electrical/electronic equipment ranging from 24v DC –
480v AC.
• Complete daily maintenance checks to include light bulb checks, painting, general repairs or rides and ride
areas.
• Assist with periodic safety checks that are undertaken for fire, health & safety, and emergency lighting etc.,
and that any hazards or defects are rectified immediately.
• Complete daily H&S and Fire checks and keep the required documentation.
• Assist with the maintenance of all life support and emergency systems.
• Ensure all statutory equipment periodic inspections are arranged and all ‘in-house’ inspection regimes are
implemented or developed and subsequently implemented if found necessary.
• Ensure all follow-up recommendations are carried out with immediate effect and that all relevant
paperwork and sign offs are completed.
• Assist in dealing with any problems which might occur regarding the physical security of the displays and
building.
• Assist with ensuring the lighting is sufficient for all the displays and that all bulbs are in good working
order and replaced, re-gelled etc. immediately. Daily checks of all display lighting to ensure a high standard
of guest enjoyment.
• Ensure site facilities and fabric of building are always safe and in good working order.
• Assist and give your input with the annual maintenance plan.
• Assist with the annual developments carried out, including decoration.
• Do any other reasonable duty as detailed by the Engineering management team.

Education and Experience:
High school or GED required. At least two years of vocational/technical training and two years of engineering
experience to include experience in a technical/themed environment and maintaining a wide range of equipment
including rides. Professional qualification in a mechanical or electrical field desired. Experience of maintaining
flexibility and the highest level of service in high-pressure and/or stressful situations. Ability to work on multiple
projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary. Desire to work in fast-paced environments.
Licenses and Certifications
Ability to obtain related licensures or certification as may be required to perform the essential function of the
position or as required by law.
Travel Requirements:
• May occasionally require local travel.

Working Conditions:
• Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including morning, evenings, holidays, and weekends to support
site operations.
Physical Demands
• Ability to meet the physical requirement of weighing and maintaining less than 280 lbs (due to the weight
limitations on the ladder(s)).
• Ability to hear, listen, and to communicate with others.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use basic computer tools.
• Wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
• Move throughout all areas of the attraction with or without reasonable accommodation.

function for the full shift with meal break.
• Bend, stoop kneel, reach twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, and/or crouch to accomplish daily activities.
• Grasp, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye
coordination.
• May be exposed to a loud work environment.
• Will operate heavy power equipment ex. Boom lift and scissor lift.
• Must be able to work at heights of 200+ feet.
• May work with corrosive materials.
• May be occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous chemicals, fluorescent lamps or
batteries, hazardous waste.
• Ability to identify and use all hand tools, small power tools, use and carry ladders up to 20ft. tall
Environmental Factors
• Depending on location, work may be performed inside or outside with varying temperatures and floor
surfaces.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold and/or wet, damp or drafty conditions.
• Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distractions.
• Exposure to shaking objects and equipment.
• Exposure to varying light levels while transitioning in and out of the attraction at various times of the
workday.

• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
