Scope of Job: 

 

  • Plan, write and edit the working process instructions for all types of Rides Maintenance work activities on instruction documents and CMMS systems.
  • Learns, understands and translates existing task practices into detailed and documented procedures to be used for work performance management and training.
  • Document internal and external regulatory requirements into clear, thorough and informative procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, organize, and compose clear, concise and readable technical documents that many include diagrams, flow charts, photos and graphics that must be captured and manipulated to support content.
  • Document work procedures for Technical Services operations to meet the requirements established by internal and local regulations, audit findings and manufacturer requirements.
  • Use written procedures to clearly and effectively communicate technical information for safe working practices for Rides Maintenance Engineers.
  • Driving/Operating Company vehicles as directed to meet job duties and objectives
  1. Operations
    • Collect data by interviewing engineers, researching manuals and standards, and observing work practices to identify current working procedures.
    • Illustrate equipment and procedures, using photos or other diagrams, to include in procedures and reference documentation.
    • Record and document procedures and standards for existing activities and any new operations, within the Rides Maintenance team, in a Code of Safe Working Practice (CoSWP).
    • Analyze and adjust documents, as necessary, to maintain continuity of style, naming convention and content.
    • Utilize document control methods to maintain version and access control of documentation.
    • Update and edit, or create as necessary, document templates for procedures, training records and other instruction material or inspection records.
    • Document and record information identified by Rides Maintenance supervisors regarding training content and other materials used to support and document inspection records.
    • Submit finished documentation for review by department manager and compliance management, quickly responding to edits as directed.
    • References standards and expectations from manufacturer manuals, internal engineering standards, health and safety audits into procedures.
    • Creates visually appealing, clean and user-friendly documentation designed for clear understanding by ride engineers, using regulatory and/or professional formats for warnings, image references and additional resources.
    • Translate written text to CMMS platform, creating the functions used by technicians to record completion of inspection tasks, including text, logic and assignments through checklists.
    • Manage the access and link to electronic access to manuals, CoSWPs, procedures, or other library resources.
  1. Marketing
    • Carries out projects as assigned to engage resort participation.  
  1. Financial
    • Works with the Rides Management team to focus on guest and employee injury prevention specifically as it relates to safe work practices, preventing injuries.
  1. Development
    • Works with Rides Maintenance and Compliance Management in all departments to record procedures and training references used for Rides Maintenance training.
  1. People
    • Responsible for promoting and demonstrating LEGO’s and Merlin’s SOPs, culture and core values through words and actions
  1. Health & Safety:
    • Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Able to write in procedural style with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Able to handle multiple projects and quickly adapt to new initiatives. 
  • Able to learn to read and understand engineering drawings, documents and specifications
  • Working knowledge of relevant occupational HSS standards and regulations. 
  • Proven written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate HSS processes to a range of people so as to influence others.  

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree level of education is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the resort site, and interact with employees and third parties.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, complete work on the computer and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.

Work Environment:

  • Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Steel toed boots(Annual Company stipend), and as directed by Senior Leadership and Management.

Other Job Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends to support resort operations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle and/or Company vehicle (including golf cart, etc.) for business purposes.  Position includes driving Company vehicles at the Resort

Pay Range

Compensation between USD $26.00/Hr.-USD $27.00/Hr.
