Essential Job Functions:
1. Work alongside other qualified electricians to maintain a fun and enjoyable theme park environment.
2. Follows established maintenance program, including emergency repairs as required to keep facilities operation to an acceptable minimum in all areas of attractions and facilities.
3. Ensures that all work areas are kept clean, neat and orderly at all times.
4. Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM, San Diego County and loss prevention guidelines.
5. Writes requisitions for parts and materials for rides, buildings and all other attractions, then forwards them to manager for approval.
6. Reads blueprints and follows schematic circuit drawings.
7. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for new/relocated rides, animated attractions, building equipment and systems.
8. Diagnoses and replaces damaged or broken wire, cables, malfunctioning and faulty electrical apparatus such as: transformers, motors, panels, relays, switches, outlets, position sensing devices, etc.
9. Tests and replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards in rides, attractions and equipment.
10. Responds to emergency calls to repair theme park attractions and rides to maintain the safety and comfort of guests and MCs.
11. Ensures the security and safety by inspection and prevention of safety hazards.
12. Keeps safety as #1 priority.
13. Studies operational power efficiencies through analysis of costs. Makes recommendations to supervisor on theme park lighting and power utilization.
14. Advises supervisor immediately of theme park rides, attractions and building systems, which experience electrical malfunctions.
15. Operates equipment such as torches, grinders, drill presses, conduit benders, voltmeters, phase sequence indicators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
16. Keeps an updated report of actual expenditures and time units to complete assigned work.
17. Liaison with maintenance and other departments.
18. Stays informed and updated on modern techniques and technical methods by attending supplemental courses, seminars, conventions, etc
19. Stays abreast of governmental, state and local regulations, including OSHA, ASTM and San Diego County codes.
20. Understands and utilizes NEC 70B and 70E for Safety and maintenance standards.
21. Must have a valid C class driver's license and be able to operate a Motor Vehicle
Requires at least two years of field experience in electrical controls, or at least four years of experience as a licensed electrician, preferably in a hotel resort or theme park. Knowledge of circuits, voltages and amperes used for assigned work is required. Knowledge of NEC and San Diego County codes is required. Considerable knowledge of different tools and equipment needed to meet the requirements of the above job description. Requires a demonstrated flexibility to handle a wide range of highly complex and challenging duties throughout the theme park, with extreme care, focused attention and skillful precision. Requires the ability to use a full range of measuring devices and power tools. Ability to react under pressure and in emergency situations in a calm, rational manner is required. Requires the ability to communicate in the English language with supervisor, and read and, evaluate reports and correspondence. Basic math skills are required. Ability to maintain a friendly, polite, customer service oriented demeanor is required. Requires the ability to effectively follow supervisor’s directions, and observe and remember details. Effective decision-making skills are required. All tools are provided by the company.
Other Requirements:
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
Must have valid driver’s license, safe driving record
