About the role...

 

This position requires that you work at least 6 shifts per months (3 of which must be weekends)

Our medic team has shifts beginning at 7:30am, typically ending at 9pm. 

 

Medic/EMT will perform duties associated with providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies. This position involves interpretation and communication of complex regulations, protected medical data, terminology and working outside in inclement weather. 

 

What you’ll be doing...

  • Provide basic clinical life support and emergency care services to park guests and Model Citizens.
  • Provide examination and screening of patients consistent with applicable laws, regulations, Company policies and Medical Director Protocols.
  • Lift and place patients on stretcher, restrain patient appropriately, lift and move patient to stretcher, lift and move loaded stretcher into ambulance.
  • Drive medical cart to and from emergency and non-emergency scenes in a manner appropriate to patient condition, at all times considering due regard for the safety of self and others.
  • Coordinate patient care, between inter-agency (i.e. Fire and police) personnel and other emergency personnel.
  • Administer or assist with UA’s and Audiometric testing.
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of health services supplies.
  • Complete all reports, including patient care records, Workman’s Compensation paperwork; legibly, accurately on a timely basis and submit activity and injury reports as required.
  • Assist with facility inspections, safety audits and other duties as assigned.
  • -Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, trainings and reviewing professional publications.
  • -Perform all duties in a safe, courteous, confidential and professional manner, always taking into account the well-being of the patient.
  • -Strictly conforms to all safety rules and regulations, assist with ride evacuations and assist security team when necessary.

Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

 

Who we’re looking for...

  • Requires a minimum of (1) year of experience in health services.
  • Pediatric, emergency room or theme park medical experience is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, hazard communications and safety training methods.
  • Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office Products is required.
  • Requires excellent verbal, written communication and customer service skills.

Education:

High School or General Education Diploma (GED) is required. Must be a graduate of a State accredited or recognized EMT/Paramedic program and possess a current Florida EMT or Paramedic license/certification in good standing. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) is required and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred. Registered Nurses and/or Licensed Practical Nurses must also hold at least a current Florida EMT license.

Pay Range

USD $18.00/Hr.
