Scope of Job:
The Valet ensures the overall smooth and efficient operation of the hotel as it relates to guest service, greeting guests, Parking guest vehicles, luggage handling, luggage delivery and maintaining cleanliness in front of the house areas, contributing to the overall creation of memorable experiences.
Main Responsibilities:
▪ Welcomes all guests to the Resort, providing dynamic, high-quality service to all guests and assisting guests with luggage to and from accommodations.
▪ Navigates guest vehicles responsibly to designated valet lot.
▪ Educates guests on the Resort and emergency procedures.
▪ Works effectively in a team environment.
▪ Drive guests vehicles responsibly to designated valet services.
▪ Greet all guests, open the vehicle doors (explain the valet procedures and ask if guests need directions), tag keys and perform access control duties.
▪ Accurately account for guest keys and assume responsibilities.
▪ Polish luggage carts and help maintain cleanliness in the lobby area, luggage storage area and throughout the front of the house.
▪ Be prepared to answer questions from guests related to the park, hotel and surrounding areas.
▪ Assist the Bell Associates with guest needs during periods of high guest flow, large groups, etc.
▪ Assisting hotel with guest retention by providing excellent customer service.
▪ The primary function of this position is guest service related. This position is required to engage and interact with guests in a professional and fun way and manage guest property in a responsible manner.
▪ Actively model the Merlin Way.
▪ Provide accurate and timely communication to guests and promote/contribute to effective
communication within the team.
Health & Safety:

In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
Background and Experience:
Must have a clean driving record and have the ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles. Preferred candidates will need to be people oriented and have a professional demeanor. Will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Education:
High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred.
Physical Demands:
▪ Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
▪ Prolonged standing and walking to move about the park and Resort site, and interact with guests and employees.
▪ Ability to bend, flex, lift, and all associated physical activity to lift, pull, push, and move moderate weight loads to heavy luggage.
▪ Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
▪ Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
▪ Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
Work Environment:
▪ Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
▪ Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Other Job Requirements:
▪ Performs other duties as assigned.
▪ Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays and weekends to support resort operations.
▪ Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
▪ Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
