π‘ Work with Curator & Sr. Aquarist to manage species inventories, new exhibits, water quality, quarantine, and overall animal wellness.
π§ Troubleshoot and repair advanced life support systems (ozone, UV, plumbing) while training others to do the same.
ποΈ Support CAPEX projects and help design, build, and refine inspiring exhibits and life support systems.
π¬ Communicate vet updates, manage meds & diets, and ensure the team is aligned on animal health plans.
π€Ώ Partner with the DSO to maintain dive-dependent exhibits and keep all dive gear in tip-top shape.
π Champion conservation initiatives, staff development, scheduling, budgets, and step into leadership roles when Curator or Sr. Aquarist is away.
π 7+ years professional aquarium/zoo experience plus 3+ years leading aquarist teams; budgeting & CAPEX experience a bonus.
π€Ώ Open Water SCUBA required; Rescue Diver certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
π Skilled in caring for diverse marine & freshwater species, including nutrition, behavior, recordkeeping, and compatibility.
βοΈ Hands-on expertise with life support systems (filters, UV, skimmers, ozone) and troubleshooting.
π§ Strong water quality knowledge and proficiency with testing equipment for key parameters.
π§ͺ Experience with necropsies, disease ID, and treatments.
π Knowledgeable in quarantine procedures for both marine and freshwater animals.
π‘ Experience in exhibit planning, design, and lighting.
π¦ Public aquarium diving preferred; able to dive with large species, perform maintenance, shows, and assist with collections.
π Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or equivalent aquarium/zoological program or experience.
