ROLE SUMMARY
Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the Facilities Team, an essential function within our Technical Services department. As a Facilities Plumber, you play a vital hands-on role in the success of the resort—ensuring a safe, reliable, and enjoyable environment for our guests and Model Citizens by maintaining plumbing systems across the park, hotels, and waterpark to the highest operational standards.
The Facilities Plumber plays a critical role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and reliability of all plumbing systems throughout LEGOLAND® Florida Resort. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply lines, drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, and related fixtures that support attractions, restaurants, restrooms, and administrative facilities. The Plumber works to maintain compliance with state and local plumbing codes, prevent system failures, and ensure that all guest-facing and operational areas remain in top working condition.
Beyond day-to-day maintenance, the Facilities Plumber contributes to the resort’s broader operational success by supporting assigned projects, scheduled refurbishments, and emergency repairs. The role requires collaboration across departments including Rides, Food & Beverage, and Hotels to ensure minimal downtime and a positive guest experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-minded, and proactive—committed to delivering high-quality workmanship that upholds LEGOLAND Florida’s reputation for excellence and fun in every detail.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment including water heaters, pumps, sinks, toilets, valves, and backflow devices.
· Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, blockages, or potential system failures and report findings via CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
· Maintain sewer, storm drain, and irrigation systems across the resort.
· Support water conservation and sustainability initiatives by monitoring usage and reporting inefficiencies.
· Coordinate with Facilities Technicians, Electricians, HVAC Technicians, and external contractors for cross-trade repairs and projects.
· Test and maintain backflow prevention assemblies and ensure documentation complies with local regulations.
· Troubleshoot and repair plumbing-related issues that impact attractions, restrooms, kitchens, and lodging areas.
· Respond to emergency calls promptly to minimize downtime and guest impact.
· Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, parts usage, and preventive maintenance schedules.
· Ensure adherence to all safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and environmental standards.
· Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and shutdown maintenance projects.
CMMS Responsibilities:
· Receive, prioritize, and close out work orders in the resort’s CMMS.
· Document parts used, labor hours, and task notes accurately for each assignment
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. They must ensure they follow safe working procedures for all work activities they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, water distribution, drainage, and sanitary lines.
· Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and equipment safely and efficiently.
· Familiarity with Florida plumbing codes (Preferred), safety regulations, and preventive maintenance practices.
· Proficiency with plumbing tools and CMMS work order systems for documentation and scheduling.
· Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a licensed or journeyman plumber in commercial, hospitality, or theme park environments.
· Knowledge of Florida plumbing codes, safety regulations, and water quality standards.
· Experience with backflow prevention certification (or ability to obtain).
· Familiarity with CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
· Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the resort for extended periods of time.
· Regularly required to climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach in varying positions.
· Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. independently and occasionally heavier weights with assistance or mechanical means.
· Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor environments exposed to sun, heat, rain, or inclement weather.
· Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems.
· Ability to respond quickly to emergencies, sometimes requiring physical stamina and agility.
· Clear vision and hearing (with or without corrective aids) required to safely inspect, operate, and maintain equipment.
Work Environment:
· Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces may include dirty and dusty environments.
· Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, with extreme hot or cold conditions.
Other Job Requirements:
· Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work outdoors year-round.
· Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
